BAHAWALPUR, March.10: Samia Bibi, an alleged victim of kidney removal and sale scam, on Saturday reportedly refused to get examined by a board of Bahawal Victoria Hospital doctors, saying experts from some other facility should be appointed for the purpose.

A five-member medical board headed by BVH medical superintendent, was to examine her to ascertain the removal of her kidney allegedly at the behest of her husband Shakil.

Samia had lodged a complaint in this connection with Nowshehra Jadid police last month.

Sources said when Samia, who came to the BVH along with her mother Bashiran Bibi, was produced before the board members for examination, she refused to go through the medical procedure, saying she wanted to be examined by experts from some other hospital.

When contacted, board head Dr Khalid Majid refused to comment on the situation.

One Jamil, who is supporting Samia in her quest for justice, said that she had filed a writ petition in the Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court to seek relief in this respect. Her petition, contents of which could not be known, was expected to come up for hearing on March 14 before the LHC bench here. — Correspondent
