KARACHI, March 8: ‘Naeen Sindh ji Golha’ (In search of a new Sindh), a book authored by Naseer Memon, a Sindhi intellectual and rights activist, was launched on Wednesday at Sir Abdullah Haroon Community Centre in Khadda, Lyari. The Sindhi Adabi Sangat (Centre and Karachi) jointly organised the programme.

President of the Karachi Press Club Sabihuddin Ghausi said Sindh was the richest province of the Indian sub-continent till Independence. He said Sindh’s per capita income was 50 percent more than the rest of Pakistan 60 years ago, which was now lesser than the rest of the country.

The key note address was made by former speaker of Sindh Assembly Hussain Abdullah Haroon. Aijaz Qureshi, Arbab Nek Mohammad, Yousuf Sindhi, Dr Ali Ahmed Rind, Maher Marker, Zulfiqar Halepoto and Imdad Solangi also spoke on the occasion. Secretary-General Sindhi Adabi Sangat Dr Zulfiqar Siyal,, thanked the speakers and audience. —Staff Reporter
