KARACHI, March 5: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has released first instalment of Rs 3 million to the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) for hosting the 30th National Games in Karachi from April 9 to 14, Dawn reliably learnt on Monday.

The money is part of Rs 5 million subsidy which the PSB lend to the organisers.

However, the second instalment of Rs 2 million will be released after conclusion of the event and submission of the entire accounts with supporting original bills duly verified by the organising secretary.

The PSB through their letter No F.3-1/2005-PSB (NF) dated March 3, has also asked the SOA secretary to submit a comprehensive report containing the details such as schedule of events and results to them after the games.

The Pakistan Sports Trust (PST) has already provided Rs 10 million in cash and kind to organisers out of the promised amount of Rs 20 million. This came in instalments of Rs 2 million and Rs 4 million through cheques and equipments worth Rs 4 million.
