Woman, son robbed of Rs1.3m

LAHORE, March 5: Three robbers looted a family at gunpoint in Garden Town area here on Monday. Police said Mehrun Nisa and her son Faisal Mehmood were returning by a car after withdrawing Rs1.3 million cash from the LDA branch of MCB Bank. Near their house at Abu Bakar Block, three armed motorists intercepted them and made off with the cash.

The police have registered a case.

Three gun-totting men intercepted Idrees near Maryam Chowk in Garden Town and took away Rs300,000.

Four robbers barged into a shop in Javed Market in Factory Area, held the owner hostage at gunpoint and took away cash, calling cards and a cell phone.

Four people, including a girl, came to Sajjad’s house in Herbanspura, collected Rs15,000 and 15-tola gold ornaments after deceiving the inmates and escaped.

Two robbers, including a girl, came to the house of Aamir in Mujahidabad Colony in Mughalpura area, held a woman at gunpoint and managed to escape with jewellery worth Rs80,000.
