PESHAWAR, March 5: Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam has directed officials of the National Highway Authority to expedite work on the Peshawar-Nowshera road so that it could be completed in August.

Speaking during a visit to the under-construction portions of the project, he directed the NHA officials to complete the the work under a crash programme to ensure smooth traffic on the road.

The minister said that timely completion of the dual carriageway would facilitate the people of the NWFP.

He instructed the NHA high-ups to submit the inquiry report about the earlier faulty construction of the road by March 15.

The minister was given a briefing about various specifications of the project and his attention was drawn to the scarcity of coal tar hindering the completion of construction work on time.

He said that the material would be provided at the earliest.—APP
