12 fishermen arrested

KARACHI, March 3: Martime Security Agency has apprehended 12 Indian fishermen and five boats for fishing illegally in Pakistani waters.

A ship of the Maritime Security Agency was on routine patrol in the Eastern Maritime Region on Friday when it found the boats fishing illegally about 23 nautical miles inside the Exclusive Economic Zone of Pakistan.

Officials said that despite warning the fishermen continued fishing.

Later, the apprehended fishermen were handed over to the Docks police officials.—PPI
