PESHAWAR, March 3: A man disfigured a boy’s face by splashing acid on him near the Charsadda Road, allegedly after having failed to sexually abuse him here on Friday night.
Umer Gul, mason by profession, escaped from the crime scene, leaving Musa Khan in an injured condition. The boy’s face and lips sustained acid burns.
The boy, a resident of Afghan Colony, claimed that he tried to discourage the accused and resisted his attempts to molest him, which infuriated the man. Musa was later taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.
An FIR was registered at the Faqirabad police station.
A police official said that they had raided the residence of Umer Gul in Shabqadar tehsil in Charsadda district, but he was not found there, adding that the boy was in stable condition.
BOY KILLED: A man killed a 17-year-old boy here in the Sarband area, apparently because of his reluctance to befriend him. According to the FIR, the complainant was walking along with his brothers Riazatul Haq and Aftabul Haq, and his son Sameenul Haq when the accused appeared and started firing at his son, killing him.
