PESHAWAR, March 3: The service launched by the Pakistan Post for online transfer of money from 200 countries is now available to consumers in the NWFP.

The service was launched under an agreement with the Western Union, a multinational company.

The agreement ensures efficient transfer of money sent from abroad.

This was stated by the Post Master-General, Fazal-i-Sattar, in his inaugural address at a customer care seminar held here on Saturday.

He said training was being imparted to all post masters and other employees to ensure better, efficient and speedy handling of online money transfer cases.

He said one of the most important features of the online service was delivery of scholarship money to girl students at their doorstep. Similarly, he said, stamps clubs would be opened in schools to provide commemorative stamps to students.

Referring to the importance of savings in a developing economy, the post master-general said that various savings schemes were being promoted by the Pakistan Post and over 7,000 post offices were running different schemes.

He asked the postal employees to motivate the people to invest in theses schemes.

He also urged them to develop a true spirit of punctuality and give better service to all customers.
