PESHAWAR, March 2: The first session of the newly-established “Hazara Thinkers Forum” was held on Friday in Abbottabad with Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, Deputy Inspector General of Police for Hazara Region, in the chair.

During the session, Dr Ahsan Ali Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Hazara University, presented his research paper on the history of Hazara region, which was followed by a general discussion by the participants.

Speakers highlighted various eminent personalities and the architecture and archaeological heritage of the Hazara region. Among others, the meeting was attended by: Dr Ahsan Ali Khan; Dr Haroon-ur Rashid, Director COMSATS, Abbottabad; Dr Aziz Awan, Eye Specialist; Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad Marwat, District Police Officer, Abbottabad; Waqas Nazir, DPO, Mansehra; Prof Iftikhar Ahmad, head of Urdu Department, Abbottabad Public School; Wahid Siraj, MD, Modern Age Public School; Lal Mohamad, Additional Commissioner, Income Tax; Mrs Rukhsana Javed, Dr Nain Uzma and Dr Tahir Salim.—APP
