16 houses, flour mill gutted

KHAIRPUR, Feb 21: Sixteen houses and a floor mill were gutted in two villages near here the other day in two separate incidents of fire.

In village Bagri near Khairpur Central Jail, sixteen houses were reduced to ashes when fire broke in the village.

The houses belonged to Arjan, Gopal, Sadho, Saiwa, Adlo, Mohin and others.

The cause of fire is said to be an electric short circuit.

In another incident, in village Wada Machayoon, taluka Kingri, the flour mill of Basheer Ahmed Bhatti caught fire in which more than 100 maunds of wheat, wooden structure of the factory and two goats were burnt.

The acting district Nazim, Sher Mohammad Phulpoto, visited the village Bagri and assured the victim families for possible assistance.

SKIN DISEASE: Over two hundred patients were examined in a medical camp in village Bhango Behan, Faiz Ganj taluka, for the treatment of leishmaniasis on Wednesday.

The patients belong to villages Bhango Behan, Amin Pato, Sarang Gopang and Rahmatullah Chang.

LOADSHEDDING: Unscheduled loadshedding disturbed routine life in Khairpur, Kingri, Thari, Mirwah, and Kot Diji talukas the other day.

Tailor masters, shopkeepers and consumers of talukas Faiz Ganj, Kot Diji, Bozdar Wada and Paka Chang took out a procession to protest against the loadshedding.
