SANGHAR, Feb 26: Hundreds of people -- including children, students and women – were stranded in the district after the police seized coaches, buses, trucks and wagons to take people to Larkana to attend a public meeting to be addressed by President Gen Pervez Musharraf on February 28.

The seized vehicles will be used for transporting participants of the public meeting and policemen from Sanghar. Many transporters did not ply their vehicles to avoid impounding.

Meanwhile, five persons, including four women, were injured when a rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a bus. The bus was being chased by the police who wanted to seize it.

In the meantime, the bus collided with a rickshaw. As a result, the rickshaw driver and a woman passenger received serious injuries and four other women passengers were slightly injured. They were taken to a hospital.

Our Mirpurkhas correspondent adds: People experienced hardships owing to missing of public transport on different routes in Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, and Tharparkar districts.
