HYDERABAD: Court summons SHO

HYDERABAD, Feb 22: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Thursday issued notices for February 26 to the Pinyari police SHO and the Hyderabad DPO on a petition filed by a young girl, seeking protection.

According to the petitioner, Sobia, daughter of Ghulam Hussain, she has married Mohammad Amir of her own free will because her family wanted to marry her to a man whose integrity was not above board.

She said that she appeared before the court of law and filed her free will affidavit. Thereafter, her Nikkah was solemnised with Amir. She said that her family had threatened to kill her and her husband on the pretext of karo-kari.

She said that they had begun harassing them through the SHO who was conducting raids to arrest them. She said that raids were conducted on the homes of her in-laws to force her husband to surrender, who had been threatened with implication in false cases otherwise.

The petitioner said that their lives were in danger and requested the court to restrain the SHO from harassing her, her husband and his family. She said that the DPO should be ordered to take action against the SHO and he should be restrained from implicating her and her husband or her in-laws in false cases.
