HYDERABAD, Feb 11: The chairman of the organising committee of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Shafi Mohammad Karnani, and senior members Abdul Wahid Arisar, Serai Qurban Khuhawar, Shabbir Jamali, Akbar Soomro, Roplo Cholani, Qurban Mahar and Riaz Chandio, have accused what they called the self-appointed JSQM chairman, Bashir Khan Qureshi of being responsible for crisis within the party over the last three months.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, they alleged that Bashir Qureshi, was trying to impose himself as a leader by refusing to abide by the decisions of all the institutions of the party.

They pointed out that the supreme GMS council of the Mahaz, some time ago, had accepted the resignations of the office-bearers and appointed a six-member organising committee with powers to run the affairs of the party.

They said that the organising committee had hardly commenced its work when Qureshi got himself illegally reinstated by two members of the organising committee.

They claimed that the GMS council unanimously rejected the resignation of the chairman of the organising committee (Shafi Mohammad Karnani) who had earlier resigned due to the negative attitude of a couple of members of the organising committee.

Shafi Karnani said that he had accepted the decision of the GMS council and resumed his work. Therefore, he said all the decisions taken by the so-called body, which had got itself reinstated, are absolutely illegal and a flagrant violation of the party constitution.

He claimed that all the decisions taken by the organising committee will remain in force. He said the organising committee had met on Saturday and decided to continue accountability process and to punish those who were found guilty according to the party constitution.

He announced to hold a protest demonstration in Islamabad on February 24 against the disappearance of Safdar Sarki, Aakash Mallah, Asif Baladi and other political activists from Balochistan. He said, Safdar Sarki was arrested a year back but his whereabouts had not been made public till date.

Karnani further said that the organising committee will undertake an extensive tour of Sindh and reactivate the party in accordance with the philosophy of G.M.Syed.

JSM: The national congress of Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Junejo group) at its two-day annual session held at Dadu on February 9 and 10, reviewed the obtaining national and international situation in detail and called upon the Sindhi people to find out new allies at national and international level to give an impetus to its struggle for independence and survival.

Abdul Khaliq Junejo presided over the congress which was attended by delegates from various districts of Sindh, including the office-bearers of Sindhi Porheyat Sangat and Sindhi Nari Tehrik. The congress also reviewed the reports of the subordinate wings of the Mahaz.

It said, Sindhis will have to evolve a new strategy to preserve its national identity and will have to find new allies at national and international levels for its independence and survival.

The meeting noted that after usurpation of all the resources of Sindh in the name of federation, Sindh was now being dispossessed of its islands.
