ISLAMABAD: Religious scholars, spiritual leaders and representatives of different faiths have unanimously reaffirmed their support for a decree against terrorism, suicide attacks, and extremism while fully endorsing the national narrative of Paigham-i-Pakistan.

The declaration was issued at a joint meeting organised by the National Paigham-i-Amn Committee and the Balochistan Provincial Paigham-i-Amn Committee at Jamia Salafia Dawat-ul-Haq. The meeting was chaired by Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council and coordinator of the national committee.

The participants declared that suicide attacks and the killing of innocent people were forbidden in Islam, stressing that no individual or group had the right to resort to violence against the state or take the law into its own hands in the name of religion, sect or ideology. They strongly condemned the exploitation of women, children, students and young people for terrorist activities, describing such acts as religiously forbidden and crimes against humanity.

The declaration expressed support for the national security institutions in their fight against Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, saying safeguarding national security and eliminating terrorism were shared responsibilities.

Emphasising that peace in Balochistan was essential for the country’s stability, the participants pledged to promote interfaith and inter-sectarian harmony, religious tolerance and national unity. They also vowed to protect young people from extremist ideologies, hate propaganda and terrorist organisations.
