PESHAWAR, Feb 8: The NWFP police on Thursday released sketches of alleged suicide bombers involved in recent attacks in Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan.
The government has asked people to inform police on telephone numbers 091-9210931 and 091-9210457 if they happen to see the accused. Anyone providing information about the alleged suicide bombers will get a cash reward of Rs1 million and their identity will be kept secret.
The SSP, investigation, Qazi Jamilur Rehman, told Dawn that the sketches had been prepared by experts through computer technology after interviews with people in the vicinity of the blasts.
He said the suicide bomber who had struck in Peshawar on Jan 27 was between 17 and 20 years of age. He appeared to be Persian speaking and was wearing a dark-blue jacket, the police officer said.
The bomb blast had killed 15 people, including six policemen and three nazims.
Another investigator said the Dera Ismail Khan suicide bomber, according to experts, was 16 or17 years old and he also appeared to be Persian speaking.
He said both the suicide bombers were young, who would be easily trapped by terrorist groups into carrying out terrorist acts.
He declined to comment on the involvement in the suicide attacks of Baitullah Mahsud, a local Taliban commander who had vowed to avenge the Zamazola attack by security forces.
