ISLAMABAD, Feb 7: The personal secretary of a judge Wednesday thrashed a policeman deployed at the Supreme Court building.

Constable Tehwer Abbas lodged a complaint with the office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police Security Mr. Azhar alleging that he was thrashed by the drunken personal secretary of a judge.

Some police personnel, including Mr Abbas and a lady constable, deployed at the Supreme Court were taking tea near the scanner placed at the entrance of the court building when a man came to them at around 9:45am and asked if it was the right place to take tea. The man pushed back Tehwer Abbas and also broke the tea cups.

Later he slapped the constable and used an abusive language against him.

However, other police staff stepped in and defused the situation. Lawyers, general public, officials of post office and information department witnessed the incident.

Later, police came to know that the man was personal secretary of a judge.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Supreme Court Ishaq Warriach confirmed the incident and said that he had scanty information about the incident, as he was busy in a meeting. He said action would be taken against the accused.

When this reporter contacted Deputy Superintendent of Police Security Mr. Azhar to seek his comments on the issue, he said he was not aware of the incident.
