PESHAWAR, Feb 7: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has warned all provincial government departments, autonomous bodies and local government departments to clear outstanding dues by Feb 15, or face power disconnection.

In this regard, Pesco issued notices to the defaulting departments in the province as part of a dues recovery campaign to overcome shortage of funds for its extensive development plans, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.

Pesco has approximately Rs563 million arrears against various public departments up to Dec 31, 2006, including Rs92 million against the provincial government departments, Rs40 million against autonomous bodies and Rs431 million against the local government departments.

Among the major defaulting public consumers are public health engineering department, Peshawar’s Town-I and III, TMAs, irrigation, highway, police, health and social welfare departments, secretary services, and jail and others.

POWER SHUTDOWN: Power supply from the 132 KV Peshawar University grid station will remain suspended on February 8, from 8:30am to 3:00pm due to necessary repair and maintenance work.

As a result, the consumers of the 11 KV Agriculture Nasir Bagh and Canal Town feeders will face inconvenience, said a release issued here Wednesday.

The power supply will remain suspended from the 132 KV Pabbi grid station on February 10 and 11, from 8:00am to 12:00pm due to which the consumers of the 11 KV Nowshera Kalan feeder will face inconvenience.

The power would remain suspended from the 132 KV Pabbi grid station on February 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 from 8:00 am to 12:00pm.

The consumers of the 11 KV Company Bagh, Dagai and Spin Khak feeders will face inconvenience, the press release said.—APP
