MIRPURKHAS, Feb 7: Sewage water has began overflowing from gutters and drains in different areas of the Satellite Town as the sewerage pumping station has stopped working after its power connection was disconnected by Hesco due to non-payment of dues.

The worst-affected areas include Panhwar, Memon and Malik colonies and Rahimabad where people are facing hardships due to overflowing drains.

Taluka Nazim of Mirpurkhas Ghulam Dastagir Khan and Nazim of union council-7 Mujeebul Haq told media persons that efforts were being made to restore power supply to the sewerage pumping station.

PPP WORKERS: A meeting of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Mirpurkhas district, has decided to send a group of workers to Kotri on February 9 to motivate voters in favour of the party candidate in the by–election scheduled for February 10.

Speaking on the occasion, the PPP leaders said that the government had planned to rig by-elections in Karachi and Kotri.
