MIRPUR MATHELO, Feb 4: Three people, two of them brothers, were killed and four others injured in a clash between Kalohra and Mirani tribes in the Mahisro village near here on Sunday.

Reports said that a group of armed people allegedly belonging to Kalhoro tribe opened fire on Abdul Sami Mirani 22, and Zamir Ahmed Mirani 24, killing them on the spot.

Later, people from the two tribes exchanged fire in the Makhan Faqir Kalhoro and Khuda Bux Mirani villages. Five people sustained severe injuries in the clash and one of them Mehrab Kalhoro later died.

The injured included Mehrab Kalhoro, Asghar, Zamir Kalhoro and Paryal Mirani.

A contingent of police rushed to the area to bring the situation under control. The incident was reportedly an offshoot of a running dispute between the two tribes over the murder of a head constable Deedar Kalhoro some time back.—PPI
