MIRAMSHAH, Feb 4: A student lost one of his legs in a landmine explosion in a rural area near here on Sunday. The youth was identified as Faridullah, son of Dost Ali. Officials said that the landmine had been planted just outside his house and it exploded when he stepped on it.

He was taken to the agency headquarters hospital where doctors amputated his leg.

Local residents termed the incident an act of terrorism but said that Dost Ali’s family had no enmity.
