OKARA, Feb 2: The administration has seized nearly 1,000 public transport vehicles from Okara and four neighbouring districts to carry people to the Zila Council Stadium on Saturday (today), which is venue of President Musharraf’s public meeting.

Besides Okara, buses and wagons have been seized from Faisalabad, Kasur, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal.

During the last visits of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Pervaiz Musharraf, administration had impounded buses only from the Okara district.

There were reports of transport shortage on several intercity routes.

Meanwhile, there are no proper boarding and lodging arrangements for 6,000 policemen deployed here on security duty.
