Four injured as cylinder catches fire

LAHORE, Feb 1: Four people sustained burn injuries when a cylinder caught fire during filling in the Gujjarpura area on Thursday.

The Rescue-1122 officials said Ashiq, 16, was filling an LPG cylinder at his father Aslam’s shop at Singhpura Chowk on Ghoray Shah Road when it exploded and caught fire. The blaze engulfed other cylinders.

Ashiq, his employee Abdul Rahman and two customers Saif and Ilyas sustained burn injuries and were rushed to Mayo Hospital. Ashiq was stated to be in a critical condition.

The fire reduced to ashes the entire material in the shop. Fire-fighters extinguished the blaze. —Reporter
