Mason shot dead in Islampura

LAHORE, Feb 1: A mason was shot dead by unidentified people in Islampura on Thursday morning. Police said Qasim Ali, 45, a resident of Gogera Bangla, had been living in Hasan Town on Raiwind Road.

Police quoted Qasim’s colleagues as saying that some people came to his house and took him away with them after some discussion. On Thursday morning, his bullet-riddled body was found in the Islampura area.

The police have removed the body to the city morgue for autopsy and started examining all aspects, including dacoity-cum-murder.

FOUND STRANGLED: An unidentified young man was found strangled under mysterious circumstances in the Chuhng area on Thursday.

Police said the body of the man, about 30, was lying in a small drain in Jobli Town with a rope around the neck.

The morgue officials said the body had some wounds as he was tortured before being killed. However, the police claimed that there was no torture mark on the body.

Arrested: CIA police (Cantonment division) have arrested a drug pusher and recovered 25kg hashish (charas) from his possession.

The accused was caught red-handed by the police when he was going to supply narcotics in Harbanspura area. He was identified as Qadir alias Aamir.
