HYDERABAD, Jan 31: Matiari District Nazim Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Jamote on Wednesday urged the Sindh governor to release special funds for constructing offices of the newly created district.

The absence of a proper infrastructure in place was greatly affecting the district government’s performance, he said while speaking to journalists after laying foundation-stone for building temporary police offices.

He said that due to financial constraints the district government was establishing in minimum possible expenses temporary offices of district police and their subordinate officers to help them carry on their day to day duties.

The six-room office was being built from the funds provided by police and district government on self-help basis as the home department or any other provincial government department had not yet released funds for the purpose.

The nazim said that the district had initiated work on the establishment of a district government complex and urged the provincial government to release Rs50 million for its construction. The district had already obtained 30 acre of land from the revenue department for the complex, he said

He assured police that the district would provide seven and a half acres of land to district police for construction of their offices.

DCO Mohammad Usman Chachar, DPO Javed Alam Odho, EDO Revenue Syed Imtiaz Shah and other district government officials were present on the occasion.
