Published January 28, 2007

DEAR GHAZI KHAN, Jan 27: The construction work of new wards at the DG Khan District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital has begun and gas has been provided to the medical facility, according to Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Pervaiz Haider Altaf.

Dr Altaf told Dawn on Saturday that free medicines were also available to poor patients at the hospital.

After the construction of new wards, the hospital would accommodate 500 patients, said Dr Altaf. Taking credit of the developments, the MS, who is also the executive district officer (Health), said that prior to his tenure, the hospital lacked medicines and gas supply. He claimed that graph of provision of necessary facilities to the patients had been improved satisfactorily.

PILLION RIDING BAN: The district government has banned pillion riding in the district from Jan 29 to 30. The ban was enforced to avoid any untoward incident.
