KARACHI, Jan 25: Naved Tirmizi smashed a swashbuckling century besides taking two important wickets as Azam Sports recorded a massive 122-run win over Orient Cricket Club in a KCCA Inter Club Tournament match here on Wednesday at the Airport Ground.

Naved fired 15 boundaries in his 116 as Azam Sports posted 269 before being bowled out in 34.5 overs while batting first. Raja Omar (50) was the second highest scorer who hit seven fours. Khurram Ali (3-50) was the most successful bowler.In reply, Orient Cricket Club were restricted to 147 in 22.4 overs by Azam Sports bowlers. Niazuddin (29) and M Anwar (27) were the only batsmen for Orient CC to offer some resistance. M Zain took 2-27 and Naved, who struck a century earlier, grabbed 2-40.

In other match here at the KCCA Stadium, Qasmi Cricket Club edged past Larosh Cricket Club by two wickets. Aurangzeb Khan’s 73-run knock for Qasmi CC was the highlight of the match.
