KARACHI, Jan 24: While the power load-shedding across the city on a rotation basis continued on Wednesday, people from different areas strongly criticised the KESC for not ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to its consumers even in this holy month of Muharram.

Some of the complainants maintained that the load-shedding of longer than the stipulated span, coupled with on and off breakdowns had badly disturbed their routine over the past week.

They said that the KESC should at least have put off its load-shedding exercise until Ashura to facilitate religious activities.

Some other consumers complained that the power supply was being suspended during day time in a sharp contrast to the KESC’s own pledge.

Reports of frequent suspension in power supply were received from Clifton, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi and SITE towns.

A KESC spokesman, however, stated that there would be no power shutdowns during Muharram and the load-shedding would be done away with once the maintenance of the power generators was completed and normal supply of 100 MW by Wapda was restored.
