KARACHI: Kunjahi’s demise condoled

KARACHI, Jan 22: The Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Pirzada Qasim, on Monday condoled the demise of noted scholar, poet and translator of Holy Quraan in Punjabi language Prof Sharif Kunjahi.

He said the demise of Prof Kunjahi was a big blow for Pakistani literature. He said his Punjabi translation of Holy Quraan was a tremendous service.

He said Prof Sharif Kunjahi was amongst early poets of Punjabi Nazm, besides he was founder member of Muqtadara Qaumi Zaban.

He prayed for grant of eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
