Musharraf arrives in S. Arabia

RIYADH, Jan 20: President Gen Pervez Musharraf arrived in Madinah-i-Munawwara on Saturday to begin his four nation Middle East tour. He was received at the airport by Governor Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed bin Abdulaziz and other senior officials.

Pakistan Ambassador in Riyadh Admiral (retired) Shahid Karimullah was also present.

After paying respects and praying at Masjid-i-Nabavi, the president and his delegation left for Jeddah.

After performing Umrah the delegation would fly to Riyadh on Sunday, where the president would have extensive meetings with Saudi leadership, including King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan.

Analysts here feel that during this visit the president would be focussing on regional issues and instability in the region.
