Islamabad in sight of victory

LAHORE, Jan 20: A fine century by Ashar Zaidi put Islamabad in sight of victory against Lahore Ravi in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League match at the LCCA Ground on Saturday.

Ashar struck a 149-ball 106 with 12 fours as the visitors declared their first innings at 418-9 to gain a massive lead of 280 runs on the first innings.

By close of play on the third day, Lahore Ravi were 89 for three in the second innings and still need 191 to avoid an innings defeat.

Apart from Ashar, Azhar Mahmood scored 51 with eight boundaries and Fayyaz Ahmad hit 59 with five fours.
