Waziristan victims paid Rs139m

PESHAWAR, Jan 20: More than Rs139.29 million was distributed among affectees of the recent military operations in South Waziristan Agency on Saturday by the political administration. Expressing gratitude to the government, tribesmen said the money they received could not compensate for the precious lives lost in the operations but the same would go towards bringing the authorities and the tribal people closer. Misgivings in peoples’ minds could now be removed, they added.—APP
