QUETTA, Jan 19: The Provincial Finance Department has been asked to create 200 new posts of junior vernacular teachers for regularising the service of those hired under the District Improvement Grant (DIG).These teachers were recruited by the Education Sector Reform Assistance (ESRA) programme funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in five selected districts of Balochistan.

A meeting held with Secretary Education, Munir Ahmed Badani in the chair discussed the issue of regularisation of primary school teachers picked up from five districts under the DIG, that include Turbat, Gwadar, Nushki, Chagai and Qila Saifullah. The District Coordination Officers (DCOs) and Education District Officers briefed the meeting about progress in these districts under ESRA.

It was observed that after regularising the services of recruited JV primary teachers the programme would be successfully implemented. It was informed that under the programme, Rs1,20,000 has been provided to schools for renovation.
