DUBAI, Jan 11: An Indian couple has gone on trial charged with trafficking children between Mumbai and Paris, a daily in the UAE reported on Thursday. The couple, identified only as A.K.S., 54, and his wife M.S., 50, were detained at Dubai airport on Dec 27, 2006, as they transited with two children aged 13 and 14 whose passports turned out to be false, the Al-Khaleej newspaper said.

The couple later admitted being paid by a man in Mumbai to deliver the two children to Paris.—AFP
