KARACHI, Jan 11: Top cadet class boxers besides pugilists of junior category will be seen in action at the National Cadet and Junior Boxing Championship getting underway from Jan 15 here at the KPT Sports Complex.

The KPT is organising the tournament in collaboration with the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF).

Teams from Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, NWFP, Islamabad, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy besides top departmental outfits will take part in the event.

The bouts will be held in the weight categories of 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg and 60kg for the Cadet Class while the Junior Class includes weight categories of 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg and 75kg. The age limit for the Cadet Class is 15-16 years while for the Junior Class, it is 17-19 years.

The semi-finals and final will be held on Jan 16 and 17 respectively while weight tests will be conducted on the inaugural day of the competition.—PPI
