Man killed in police firing

NAWABSHAH, Jan 9: A man was killed allegedly when police opened fire after a scuffle between police and villagers in Khair Mohammad Khoso village on Tuesday.

A team of Gadap police along with complainant Saleem Khoso, who had lodged an FIR of kidnapping of his wife, raided the village in private cars.

When police tried to enter the girl’s house, the villagers resisted and pelted police with stones damaging the vehicles.

Police opened fire in retaliation killing complainant Saleem Khoso on the spot.

The villagers besieged the area and made the police hostage.

DPO Ghulam Sarwar Jamali reached the place and rescued the policemen after holding talks with the villagers.
