SUKKUR, Jan 8: Taking suo motu notice of a jirga held in Daharki during which a minor girl was given in marriage to resolve a dispute regarding karo-kari, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has summoned DPO Ghotki, TPO Ubauro and SHO Daharki to appear before the court on Jan 10.

According to sources, a jirga was held in Nawakot village near Daharki two months ago, in which a minor girl was given in marriage to settle a karo-kari dispute between two groups of Golo tribe.

Those who were summoned included, the DPO of Ghotki Iqbal Dara, the TPO of Ubauro Ali Haider Rind and the SHO of Daharki Aslam Leghari. They were asked to apprise the court why they failed to take action against the people responsible for holding such a jirga.
