HYDERABAD, Dec 28: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil warned on Thursday that a SHO would have to pay to the robbed from his own pocket besides facing administrative action if someone the crime took place in the limits of his police station.

The nazim issued the warning in a meeting with district officers, which chalked out contingency plan for maintaining law and order and cleanliness before and after Eid-ul-Azha in the district.

Mr. Jamil said that the temporary animal markets where the buyers were busy purchasing animals from the animal sellers from rural areas made an easy target for criminals and directed the DPO to make foolproof security arrangement in and around such markets.

He directed the DPO to ensure traffic flow remained smooth in all the urban areas and asked taluka nazims to set up rescue-cum-complaint camps to register and solve people’s complaints and also arrange for separate parking lots at animal markets.

The nazim said that each taluka administration had prepared its own contingency plan according to its size and available resources to remove garbage and offal during and after Eid.

He formed a committee with District Naib Nazim Zafar Rajput as its head and taluka naib nazims and EDO revenue, Abdul Sattar Jatoo as members to prepare terms and conditions of cleanliness competition.

He informed the meeting that the district had got the canals’ closure schedule revised and they would now be closed after Eid from January 3 to 4.

Mr Rajput stressed the need for clearing all main roads and cleaning sewers to avoid chocking and asked utility organisations to be efficient during Eid celebrations.
