Paceman Pathan to return home

NEW DELHI, Dec 26: Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan will return home from South Africa following his unimpressive performance on the tour, a cricket official said on Monday.

Indian cricket board official Ratnakar Shetty said the team management and chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar had asked Pathan to play domestic matches in a bid to regain form.

The left-arm seamer bagged just one wicket in three One-day Internationals in South Africa before being dropped for last week's opening Test at Johannesburg, won by India to gain a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.—AFP
