Poetic collection launched

LAHORE, Dec 26: The launch of a poetic collection titled Teer-i-Neem Kash by the late Syed Mohammad Jaffari was held at Alhamra Art Centre on Tuesday. Mr Jaffari known for his humorous poetry died in 1976. None of his collection was published in his lifetime. His first collection Shokhi-e-Tehreer was printed in 1986.

The Jaffari Foundation had organised the launch.

Most of the family members of the late Jaffari were present at the occasion.

Dr Hamid Jaffari, son of the late Jaffari, told reporters that two more books of the poet were being compiled. He said the Jaffari Foundation was a non-profitable organisation which gave scholarships to university students in Pakistan. Since most of the Jaffari’s family members were settled in United States, a number of literary gatherings had been held there by the foundation, he said. — Staff Reporter
