LAHORE, Dec 26: A crackdown is being launched on aerial firing, use of fireworks and playing loud music during marriage ceremonies. An FIR will be lodged against the bridegroom, his father and administration of the banquet hall in case of violation.

This was said by DIG (operations) Aamir Zulfikar Khan during a meeting held here on Tuesday.

He asked the divisional SPs to inform management of banquet halls about the fresh directive to this effect.

He directed the SPs to bound the SPOs concerned to maintain a close liaison with nazims and naib nazims of union councils in this regard.

The DIG said the SPOs must convey to elected people to create a sense of responsibility among citizens in this regard, besides asking them not to block traffic by erecting tents on roads otherwise action would be taken against violators.

He constituted two squads, led by each SP (security) and SP (mobiles), which would submit reports to him on daily basis.
