KARACHI, Dec 23: Zone-IV Whites won the Karachi City Cricket Association(KCCA) Inter Zonal Under-19 Championship, beating Zone-II Whites by six wickets in the final here at the KCCA Stadium on Saturday.

Promising opener Shahzeb Hasan hit a match-winning 66 off 113 balls with three hits to the boundary and was named man of the final besides being declared as the best batsman of the tournament.

Batting first, Zone-II Whites made 175-7 in 50 overs. Latif Junejo top scored with an unbeaten 33 while Abdul Jabbar made 31. Leg-spinner Shahzeb Ahmed Khan captured three for 53.

Zone-IV Whites, in reply, chased the target successfully for the loss of four wickets in 39 overs. Besides Shahzeb Hasan’s fine batting, captain Mohammad Jawad Khan made 32 with four hits to the fence and Ali Jawad smashed 31, also with the help of four 4s.
