LAHORE, Dec 23: Pakistan People’s Party Punjab President Shah Mahmood Qureshi has predicted two developments in the coming year: one, PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto will return to Pakistan; and people will defeat the Chaudhrys in the next elections.

Addressing a workers’ meeting in PP-160, organised by Malik Karamat Khokhar on Saturday evening, he said the PPP would recapture Punjab in the next elections.

Mr Qureshi said the so-called Eid package announced by the government would not help bring down the prices.

Party’s Lahore president Haji Azizur Rehman Chan said Ms Bhutto would be accorded a more rousing welcome on her return to Pakistan from the one she had received in 1986.

He said Ms Bhutto alone could resolve all problems facing the country. Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, Khalid Ghurki and other party leaders also addressed.
