LARKANA: Outlaws attack police picket

LARKANA, Dec 23: A gang of outlaws attacked a police picket on the outskirts of Qambar town and took away official weapons of two policemen after seriously injuring them on late Friday night.

Head Constable Mohammed Akil Mugheri and Constable Mohammed Amin Korejo who were on duty at a picket near Ashi Masjid came under sudden fire which left them seriously injured.

The attackers made away with one G-3 rifle and one double barrel gun belonging to injured policemen who were admitted to CMCH. Later Mohammed Akil Mughri was mover to Karachi due to his serious condition.

Police were clueless till Saturday about the attackers. They have registered a case against four unidentified attackers.

In another incident, Qurban Chandio was shot dead by armed thieves when he resisted their attempt to steal away his buffaloes in the Chutto Joyo village in the limits of Behram police station.

SSGC: The sacked employees of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) continued their hunger strike outside the local press club on the thirteenth day on Saturday.

The hunger strikers alleged that a sacked employee Jawed Ahmed Kanasiro had died due to unbearable tension on Friday. They held the managers of SSGC responsible for the death and asked why the company discriminated against the dismissed workers from Sindh and Balochistan.

They urged the company to implement the Supreme Court’s verdict on their reinstatement.
