KARACHI, Dec 21: Pakistan sailing team is likely to fly to Mumbai en route to Bhopal on Monday to compete in three-nation International South Asian Yachting Regatta (SAYR) which is set to begin there from Tuesday.

The team which comprised of 10 sailors and four officials is to compete in Enterprise team and individual event, Optimist boys and girls’ individuals and boys’ team event, secretary, Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF), Cdr. Navaid Usmani, told Dawn on Thursday.

The regatta which concludes on Dec 30 is being held under the aegis of Yachting Association of India.

Pakistan swept all the titles when SAYR was resumed after a lapse of many years in the city earlier this year.

The performance of sailors in the just concluded 15th Doha Asian Games has raised quite a few eye-brows as none of the participants could finish on the podium in the eight out of 14 classes they sailed in.
