PESHAWAR, Dec 21: A local court has dismissed the bail application of an alleged Afghan terrorist charged with carrying out rocket attacks here last month. Noorullah Khan had been arrested by the local police in connection with the Nov 6 rocket attacks in the Pishtakhara area of Peshawar.

One of the three rockets, fired from an unknown place, had exploded, but no casualty had been reported.

The Pishtakhara police had stated in the FIR, registered under section 3/4 of the Explosive Substance Act, that the accused had been paid by a neighbouring country for carrying out the rocket attacks.

They said the neighbouring country had paid Rs50,000 for each rocket fired. According to the FIR, two of the rockets were targeted at the Peshawar airport.

The public prosecutor told the court of judicial magistrate Aurangzeb Khan that the accused had admitted that he had been paid by a neighbouring country for firing the rockets.

The public prosecutor said that the accused was charged with a non-bailable offence and the evidence on record was enough to prove him guilty.
