Three drown as car falls into canal

BAHAWALPUR, Dec 19: Three people were drowned as their car fell into a canal near Head Islam, about 100km from here on Tuesday. Reports said Ghulam Mustafa, Fayyaz, Abdul Sattar and Sajjad of Khairpur Tamewali were on their way to Lahore from Khairpur in a rented car (LWJ-8414). The driver lost control over the speeding vehicle near Phattianwala bridge as a result of which it fell into the canal. Except Sajjad, others drowned in the canal.

Later, their bodies were retrieved from the canal.
