Six die in Gaza violence

GAZA CITY, Dec 19: A Hamas loyalist succumbed to wounds received during clashes with the rival Fatah faction in Gaza on Tuesday, bringing to six the day's death toll from factional violence, medics said.

Earlier two members of president Mahmud Abbas's Fatah party died. One was killed after being kidnapped by gunmen, while a second died of wounds received in fighting earlier, they said.

And two Fatah loyalists and a Hamas policeman were killed in gunbattles between the two rival groups. At least 19 people, including seven teenagers, were wounded.—AFP
