GUJRANWALA, Dec 18: The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has expressed its concern over delay in clearance of metal scrap of import consignments under CARE system and urged the Central Board of Revenue chairman to expedite the process.

At a meeting held here on Monday presided over by chamber president Rana Shahzad Hafeez, the participants, including senior vice-president Abdul Qadir Phularwan, said that the manual examination system of CARE was introduced to facilitate the business community and to bring down delay in the clearance of scrap, but importers were experiencing unnecessary delays.
