PESHAWAR, Dec 16: Federal Minister for Political Affairs and provincial president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, Amir Muqam has said that the government is taking concrete steps to provide basic facilities to people at their doorstep.

He was talking to a delegation of notables from Peshawar led by Arbab Ghulam Haider, provincial vice-president of PML, at his residence here on Saturday.

The minister said gas supply projects worth Rs1 billion had been launched in the Peshawar district alone, whereas power projects costing Rs100m were in the advanced stages of completion.

Work on 192 tubewells had also been started for ensuring smooth supply of clean drinking water to people, he said.—APP
