HANGU, Dec 15: Four government employees were kidnapped on Thursday evening from an area near the Mamo town, west of Hangu.

Officials said the employees were going to Hangu from Dalen when some people stopped their vehicle near the town and took them away along with the vehicle.

The employees, sub-engineer Mohammad Nawaz, Saifur Rehman, SDO Iftikharud Din Afzal and driver Muhammad Asif, were working for the Barani Area Project and the works and services department.

An official of the Barani project said the employees had been missing since Thursday and a case had been registered against unidentified people.

A couple of days ago, employees of an Afghans’ registration centre had been kidnapped in the area. They had later been released, but their vehicle had not been returned.—Correspondent
